Overstayers
Our Overstayers Services
If your UK visa is close to expiring, or has expired and you’re still in the UK, it’s important that you extend it or apply for a new visa to avoid overstaying in the UK. Whichever visa you’re currently on, there are multiple routes which can be taken to extend your stay in the UK. If you’re worried about what to do next, our immigration lawyers can help.
Application Submission
Overstayers who are in genuine relationships and have not committed serious criminal offences are likely to have a strong change of regularising their status either from inside the UK or from abroad. Overstaying in itself does not restrict individuals from regularising their status unless they have taken active steps to frustrate the immigration process.
Detailed information about our Overstayers service
- If you’ve stayed in the UK for longer than you’re allowed to under the terms of your visa, this is called overstaying. You’ll have 30 days to leave the country from the date that your visa expired. Individuals who want to remain in the UK should seek legal assistance.
- Applying for a new visa if you’re an overstayer in the UK can often be a difficult process, especially if you’re submitting the application without legal assistance, or using an inexperienced law firm. The application process requires much research and the necessary documentation needs to be collated to support your application.
- In recent years, a number of new higher court decisions have been issued which provide great opportunity for those who had previously overstayed to become lawful in the United Kingdom.
